DINNER AND GAME NIGHT AT CKS
The first youth group activity will be held on Saturday, October 6. Beginning with a casual dinner at 7:00, the teens will have the opportunity to get together for an informal evening of games and conversation. Participating teens are asked to bring their favorite games to play. In the past the group has enjoyed playing Apples to Apples, Taboo, poker, and other card and board games. This evening will also include time to brainstorm this year's youth group schedule of activities and discuss the structure of the youth group and ways to reach out to all the post b'nai mitzvah teens in the synagogue.
If you are a post b'nai mitzvah teen, you are invited to attend any and all youth group events. We'd love to have you come!
There will be a small fee for this event to cover the cost of dinner, drinks, and dessert. Watch for announcements in the weekly CKS email newsletter.
Please RSVP by Monday, October 1 to kfridkis@comcast.net
ACTIVITY: CROP WALK - Sunday in October
The youth group will once again join with others to raise money for this worthy cause. The walk is scheduled for either the 2nd or 3rd Sunday in October. Confirmation on the date and details on how to participate will announce in the weekly CKS email newsletter.
SAVE THE DATE: Saturday evening, October 3
ACTIVITY: TO BE ANNOUNCED
TO THE PARENTS: If you would be willing to help out at events by chaperoning, driving, providing food, or offering your home for an event, PLEASE let me know. We are also looking for parents to be members of the youth group committee. If you are interested, please contact me. The youth group looks forward to seeing your teen! Feel free to get in touch with questions or suggestions: kfridkis@comcast.net or (609) 333-1119.
Shalom,
Karen Fridkis, youth group chair
REGIONAL RECONSTRUCTIONIST YOUTH GROUP ALL CKS post-B'nai mitzvah teens are invited to join the Regional Reconstructionist Youth Group. Our very successful regional teen group is beginning again this September. This group is run by youth advisors and meets twice a month with other Reconstructionist teens from Bordentown's B'nai Abraham and Princeton's String of Pearls. We have two new leaders from Princeton University this year. Last year we had a big and very active group that met every couple of weeks for an event. Cost is $50/teen/year (to help pay for our wonderful leaders), plus the cost of tickets or food or any event charges us money.
If you would like your teen to be included, please send Karen Fridkis (kfridkis@comcast.net) the following information ASAP. THE TEEN GROUP COMMUNICATES VIA ITS OWN LISTSERV, SO IF YOU WANT YOUR TEEN TO BE INVITED TO EVENTS, I MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
1) Parents' names and email
2) Home address (snail mail)
3) Home phone number, parent cell number
4) Teen's name, email, school name, cell number, and grade this year
5) Please send a check made out to String of Pearls for $50/child to Liz Cutler, 79 Hun Road, Princeton, NJ 08540.
If you would be willing to help out at events by chaperoning, carpooling, driving, providing food, or offering your home for an event, PLEASE let me know. Thanks.
Look forward to seeing your teen! Feel free to get in touch with questions or suggestions: kfridkis@comcast.net or (609) 333-1119.
